TWO major companies based in West Norfolk have been honoured by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents for their outstanding commitment to workplace safety.
Mansell Construction Services, which has a base at Swaffham, has received an Order of Distinction after achieving 15 consecutive RoSPA gold medals.

And British Sugar, at Wissington, has earned the President's Award for chalking up 14 consecutive golds.

They were among nearly 30 businesses and organisations from Norfolk and Suffolk to be recognised at a ceremony at the NEC last week.

RoSPA chief executive, Tom Mullarkey, said: "These awards show just how seriously our country's leading businesses take the subject of saving lives and reducing injuries.

"Thousands of people are alive and well today because of the effort that every member of these organisations has put into ensuring a sensible approach to controlling workplace risks."
