PARISH councillors have celebrated the start of a new working relationship with the owners of the Wootton Meadows estate following a successful site visit.
North West Norfolk MP Henry Bellingham and representatives from South Wootton Parish Council met senior managers from Taylor Wimpey to discuss future developments at the Grimston Road estate, South Wootton, which has been dogged with controversy in recent years.

Taylor Wimpey is the new owner of Wootton Meadows and has been making efforts to build bridges with the community since taking control of the site.

They have already met with Mr Bellingham and parish councillors at the House of Commons and welcomed representatives to the development for further talks.

Deputy parish clerk Ivan Jordan said: "The object was to build bridges from virtually no contact in the past to what we hope will be a good liaison in the future.

"We are going to have regular meetings with the new site manager and the whole objective is to make the estate more appealing and attractive than in the past.

"Great improvements have been made and it should be a really nice estate."

Mr Bellingham added: "It is important for them to understand they have to liaise with local people.

"It was a very successful meeting and they have pledged to work with the community and listen to their concerns. It is turning out to be a good development."
