TIMBER merchants Pattrick and Thompsons is in the process of moving part of its business to a new site in Wisbech.
The firm, based in Lynn's Page Stair Lane, is moving the manufacturing side of its operation, which includes timber frames and roof trusses, to a premises on the docks, near the River Nene.

The timber centre will remain in Lynn and managing director Keith Arnett said: "This is an investment for our long-term future.

"It is there for future expansion and ultimately it will create new jobs at some point."

Pattrick and Thompsons occupies a six-acre site stretching from Page Stair Lane to its discharge and handling facilities at the Alexandra Dock.

As well as importing softwood timber from all over the world it also provides a wide range of household joinery, building ironmongery and retail timber supplies.
