STUDENTS from two secondary schools have stepped out of their classrooms and into the world of business and commerce for a day.
The group, from Springwood High and The Park schools, visited Adrian Flux Insurance at East Winch and Dow Chemical at North Lynn as part of a new business scheme to educate and encourage the managers of the future.
The schools had been invited to nominate students for the programme and the youngsters had to compete for a place on the group by undergoing a selection interview.
The idea is that the trips will give them a chance to meet local business leaders and see how businesses operate and how their management structures work.
Organised by Business Education Link co-ordinators, Paul Bland and Peter Bridgham, the programme is designed to help young people develop knowledge and skills that employers value, to raise aspirations and educational standards and to give them an insight into the sort of employment opportunities that are available in the area.
