RESIDENTS in Marshland St James are invited to share their ideas, hopes and opinions about the future of their village.
A steering committee formed to draft a parish plan is holding a public meeting on Tuesday, February 26, to get the whole community involved in the process.

The committee has been meeting fortnightly for several months and has put together a draft questionnaire which will eventually be delivered to every home in the parish.

All the information collected will form the basis of the plan and act as a blueprint for the way forward.

Committee chairman and West Norfolk councillor David Markinson said: "This document, when finished, will be a useful tool for this area. It will bring together the views of the people who live here and act as part of a democratic delivery system for future services and plans.

"The nine-strong committee involved are all volunteers who have given up a great deal of time and put in a huge effort to get this off the ground. I'm pleased that at long last the parish plan is going forward for this village."

Parish plans were introduced by the Government around eight years ago to give rural citizens a voice and put the people who best know their area in charge.

The meeting will be held in the Jubilee Village Hall from 7.30pm and everyone is welcome to attend.
