A MARSHLAND chatterbox who loves to talk amazed his family and friends when he completed a sponsored silence at his parents' local – lasting six weeks.
It was tough, but nine-year-old Josh Green, from Terrington St John, managed to keep quiet every time he set foot in the Buck Inn at Tilney St Lawrence, run by friends of his parents.

The youngster raised £70 for Macmillan Nurses and the children's kidney unit at the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, the fundraising pub's chosen charities this year.

His mum, Mrs Cheryl Green said: "Josh had to be quiet whenever he was in the pub or with people from the pub. He's terrible – he doesn't stop talking and drives everybody nuts!

"He did ever so well and managed to mime. We're very proud of him."

Josh, who attends Terrington St John Primary School, presented the money to Buck landlady Laureen Fraser and her daughter Ella Sysum, who organise regular fundraising events at the pub.

Mrs Fraser, who took over the pub in March last year, has supported the charity since her grandson Morgan (5), who lives in Bourne, Lincolnshire, began receiving treatment there as a baby.

Mrs Green and her husband Stuart, who are regular visitors to the pub, also took part in a charity parachute jump organised by Mrs Fraser in September, raising money for the kidney unit and breast cancer nurses at Lynn's Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
