Bygone days on royal estate
Postcard collector Terry Scott thought readers would be interested to see these gems, which were originally taken on the royal Sandringham Estate.
Mr Scott (58), who lives in South Wootton, was born on the estate where his father, John Scott, was a blacksmith.
"I lived on the estate as a young boy," said Mr Scott, who started collecting postcards as a hobby and now has 1,714. The larger picture shows estate workers in 1922. Not included in the line-up, but still in the picture, is a maid at the window.
The second picture shows coal porters outside the boilerhouse.
This is harder to date, though Mr Scott imagines it probably dates from the turn of the century.
Now Mr Scott is wondering if readers can shed any light on who is actually in the photographs. Anyone with information can ring the Lynn News newsdesk on 01553 817324, email newsdesk@lynnnews.co.uk or leave your comments below.
