BREAKING NEWS - Petitioners to hold peaceful protest to close roads around Lynn Mart
THE creator of a petition demanding road closures around the Lynn Mart has joined forces with the man who held the little boy’s hand in his final moments to organise a protest to support the family and to show the growing support for their cause.
Paul Macey, 50, from Lynn, said: “Whoever would like to join us, we’d be delighted to have you.
“Come in memory of that poor little boy, come and support the petition and show the council that we mean business.
“We’d love to have as many people as possible come and support what we’re trying to do, we just want the roads around the Mart to be closed so it is safer for the children.”
Joshua Yates, 19, from Reffley, started the petition after hearing about the collision in which a three-year-old died on Wednesday night in King Street.
Over 3,000 people have signed the petition since it was posted online at 10pm on Wednesday.
Anyone who wishes to join the protest should meet at either the St Nicholas Street junction or the King Street junction, off the Tuesday Market Place at 8pm tomorrow.
