More seeking help thanks to appeal

MORE teenagers and children are seeking help thanks to the Lynn News Young Carers Appeal.

West Norfolk Carers say the appeal is encouraging more families to contact them after receiving 12 referrals in January.

The Lynn News is working with the group to raise money to help improve the lives of children and teenagers caring for sick relatives.

Money from our appeal will go towards paying for trips and transport to meetings.

West Norfolk Carers’ Jackie Haverson said that the appeal is raising awareness of the help the group can offer.

Previously the group has received referrals from a number of sources including schools, doctors, the cancer unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The group has had four self-referrals and one from a sea cadet unit.

Jackie said: “This highlights the importance of the appeal. We are pleased people are more aware.”
