MEMBERS of clothing firm Jaeger’s sports and social club have donated £1,000 to Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of a popular former employee.
Shaunagh Eglen, who died this week two years ago, joined the company’s finance department in Lynn as a 17-year-old in 1980.
Jaeger spokesman Paul Anderson said: “With her infectious personality, caring abilities and wicked sense of humour she very soon became a much-loved member of staff and friend to all.”
Mrs Eglen continued to work for the company in various roles until she became ill in 2009. In that time, she took three short breaks to give birth to her sons, Callum, Connagh and Ciaran.
The club has now been wound up and it was decided to give the remaining funds to Macmillan in recognition of the care Mrs Eglen received from Macmillan nurses.
Mr Anderson said: “Shaunagh was a joy to work with and will be fondly remembered for ever.”
Macmillan spokesman Howard Moore said: “This is a very kind gesture.”
