THE winners of an annual competition held at Gaywood library have been awarded prizes of book tokens for their entries designing a new suit for Santa to honour a former member of staff.
Former King’s Lynn FC manager Keith Rudd holds the competition each year in memory of his wife, Jane, who worked at the library before she died from cancer in 2009.
Mr Rudd, who managed the Linnets in the 1970s and 1980s, said: “I appreciate the competition as a way of remembering Jane.
“She loved Christmas, so this year we thought we’d do a Christmas-themed competition.”
Awarded a £30 book token each, Sol Catlett won first prize in the aged 9-12 category and Dalia Khalil won the category for those aged 5-8.
Elena Parkin, community librarian, said: “Dalia was so ecstatic. She’d never won anything before.”
Second place went to Chloe Graver for the aged 9-12 category and Megan Kew for the aged 5-8 category, both were awarded a £15 book token.
Rebecca Williamson won third prize, a £5 book token, for the aged 9-12 category.
