History on the football field
I AM directing this letter at past and present North West Norfolk footballers
On behalf of the North West Norfolk Football League, I am carrying out some research into the history of the league.
We understand from Norfolk County FA records that the league may have been formed around 1935, unless you know otherwise.
We have records showing the first registered teams and their secretaries: Bircham, H.T Gidney; Brancaster and Titchwell Utd, H J Rix; Burnham Overy and Norton Utd, C Baughen; Burnham Utd, F Humphrey; Dersingham Rovers, S.Daw; Docking, J A Bridges; Flitcham, H Wasey; Heacham, J Hill; Hunstanton, H H Belding; Massingham, J Morton; North Creake, K W Howell; RAF Station/RAF 35th Squadron/RAF 207th Squadron, J V Nice; Raynham Utd, T E Wake; Ringstead, G Jorden; Sedgeford, A Herring; South Creake, A A Cann; Snettisham, A Painter; Stanhoe Rangers, V W Steward; Syderstone and Barmer Utd, J H Brown; Thornham, C Riseborough; Weasenham Utd, J Lynn; West Newton Utd, T R Bridges; Wolferton, A Emerson.
I am looking for any more information on the clubs, their secretaries, any documentation records from 1935 onwards and any relatives who can give us any more information. Maybe you have records of trophy winners.
As you will see the league is in its 77th year and we hope to somehow celebrate it. Any information please email me on collingsray@tiscali.co.uk
