Old Hunstanton School, 1949

FORMER Old Hunstanton schoolboy Edwin Proudfoot brought this picture from his home in West Yorkshire to share with Lynn News readers.

Mr Proudfoot, who was known as Blue as a schoolboy because of the colour his legs used to go in his short trousers, recalls the picture was taken in 1949 when he was 11 years old.

Mr Proudfoot (69) grew up at Waterworks Cottage, Waterworks Lane, Old Hunstanton, then later lived at 39 Sea Lane with his wife Audrey (68).

The couple, who will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in 2009, moved to Yeadon in West Yorkshire in the '60s when their children were at school. David (47) now lives in London and Tricia (45) has moved to New Zealand.

Mr Proudfoot would love to hear from anyone else in the picture.

If you recognise anyone, please call reporter Louise Brain on 01553 817320.
