CHILDREN are said to blossom at Sporle Preschool in a new Ofsted report which grades the preschool as good overall.
Partnerships with parents and children’s adoption of healthy lifestyles were graded as outstanding in the report.
The preschool is described as a friendly and welcoming place where children were valued and acknowledged as individuals. Staff were vigilant about the safety and security of children in their care.
Children’s learning needs were identified and supported. Parents and carers were fully involved in contributing to their children’s learning and development. “The learning, development and wellbeing of every child is successfully promoted,” said the report.
The inspector noted that the setting of the preschool had improved and it now has sole use of a new nursery in the village primary school. Preschool leaders showed a strong commitment to continuous improvement and outcomes for the children continued to improve.
One area for improvement was helping children to become independent. “Occasionally, staff intervene too early when children are trying to do things for themselves,” said the report.
