THE Downham branch of the Royal Air Force Association will be asking members of the public to dig deep when the 2008 Wings Appeal is launched next month.
Members of the branch will be out and about on the streets of the town on Saturday, September 20, collecting funds for the appeal.

The appeal raises money to help provide welfare and care for serving and ex-serving members of the RAF, and their families.

It also commemorates veterans of the Second World War, and in particular remembers those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the Battle of Britain on September 15, 1940.

This year's appeal is particularly special for the RAF as it celebrates its 90th anniversary.
