A RURAL fete with stalls and sideshows drew a fair band of supporters to Fincham on Friday, where people at Aspires sheltered workshop raised funds for their favourite charity.
If visitors were unsure of the cause, a famous teddy, sporting a white-and-red spotted hanky over one eye and bearing the name of Pudsey, gave the game away.
This is the second year a fete has been organised on the paddock at Aspires, with proceeds from each event going to the BBC Children in Need Appeal.
"Everyone's put so much effort into this and thankfully we've been really lucky with the weather this year," said Jackie Murphy, manager, choosing to gloss over the rain that almost put paid to last year's event.
Mrs Murphy also set up the local Sluice Women, an offshoot of the Red Hatters organisation, and several members were among those helping. Music and entertainment was by Barry Thornton of Elite Entertainment.
"We thank everyone for all their help and we'll probably organise another fete in a couple of years time. It is a lot of work and it's not fair to keep asking friends to lend a hand," said Mrs Murphy.
