AN ELDERLY woman had her purse stolen from her handbag in a brazen burglary at her home.
A man wandered through the front door and into the victim's living room and when he came face-to-face with her, asked for change for a £10 note to buy a drink, before snatching her purse from her handbag and fleeing with it.

The attack happened at around 3.25pm on bank holiday Monday in Windsor Street, Downham.

Police said the woman was not hurt in the incident.

The offender was white and in his mid-20s.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time or has any other information should contact PC Paul Chapman at Downham Police Station on 0845 456 4567 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
