From Carnegie Hall to Castle Rising
POTT ROW-based McCready Music makes it event number "0004, series 1" on Friday, March 14, with an organ and violin recital at St Lawrence Church, Castle Rising, beginning at 7pm.
Roland Roberts (violin) and Ian Clarke (organ) met in performances with the City of Oxford Orchestra, and have performed their organ and violin recital to critical acclaim.
Both have distinguished careers combining chamber and orchestral concerts, CD recordings, and performances for TV and radio.

The programme will be: Handel Sonata in E, Albinoni Adagio, Dubois Toccata – organ solo, Vivaldi Spring from The Four Seasons, Rheinberger Theme and variations, William Lloyd Webber Benedictus, Pietro Yon Toccatina for flutes – organ solo, Massenet Meditation from Thais and Vitali Ciaconna. There will be an interval.
Roland Roberts has broadcast and performed worldwide as a solo violinist and has been leader of some of the finest British ensembles including the City of Oxford Orchestra with whom he has recorded Vivaldi's Four Seasons and a CD containing his own compositions.
He has also worked on Hollywood movie soundtracks and CD recordings ranging from Pavorotti to Annie Lennox and performed in venues from The Carnegie Hall to Wembley Stadium.
Last year he was the music supervisor on the Channel 4 documentary, What Made Mozart Tic?
Ian Clarke pursues an active freelance career. In addition to teaching and lecturing, he conducts three choirs and the highly-acclaimed chamber group, the Swarbrick Singers.
He plays with several instrumental ensembles as solo harpsichordist and organist, including the London Harpsichord Ensemble, with trumpet ensemble La R'jouissance and with the City of Oxford Orchestra, with whom he has recorded several CDs.
He is also now on the panel of examiners for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, and has appeared on BBC radio and television, both as player and conductor.
