A new open mic acoustic night in Lynn is set to change the face of drab Sunday nights and add some sparkle to the cold winter months.
The fortnightly event, launched at the Mayden's Head pub in the Tuesday Market Place earlier this month, has been organised to showcase West Norfolk's acoustic and song-writing talents.

'Squeaks Corner' is the brainchild of friends and musicians Ady Chaplin, Mark Coker and Robin Twiddy, who are keen to see some new faces at their second outing on Sunday.

Ady (34), who plays acoustic reggae, told The Page participating musicians were each given a 20 to 30-minute slot to show the crowd what they could do.

"We hope to eventually branch out so it's not just an acoustic music, but other poets and musicians," he added.

The launch night, held at the pub on Sunday, January 13, saw a selection of musicians including West Norfolk band COMMON SENSE and TONY DEVENISH, lead singer with REBELATION, go down a storm.

Anyone wishing to perform on Sunday will need to take their material and instruments along to the Mayden's Head on the night.

The event gets under way at about 6pm.

For more information, call Ady Chaplin on 07786 368510.
