With their music careers going from strength to strength, Swaffham-based band FAINTEST IDEA are focusing their energy on a new gig night this weekend.
The increasingly popular punk/ska band, who last year completed a 16-date national tour, have organised what may be the first of many band nights at Lynn's Queen's Arms tonight.

Lead guitarist and vocalist Sam Rayner (20) said: "It's all good at the moment. The gig should go well and if it's popular, we hope to make it a monthly thing. We will have to see how it all goes."

Faintest Idea are currently working on material for their second, long EP and will be heading in to the recording studio in March to get the tracks down.

"We have 18 or so songs we want to record and we are going up to Crewe, near Liverpool, to record it. Our record company will be distributing the EP and it will definitely be released on iTunes. We are really looking forward to it," Sam added.

The band, who signed to London record company Party House in 2007, take inspiration from acts including The Clash, Bad Manners, Rancid and Madness and hopes to create a new scene in Lynn over the coming months.

They also plan to hold another gig night at the London Road pub on Saturday, March 29.

Also performing tonight will be Stoke Ferry ska band DUMPSTER POP, West Norfolk metal band TERMOIL and Lynn-based acoustic punk band COMMON SENSE.

The gig gets under way at 7.30pm and tickets cost £5 on the door. More information on this week's gig guide.
