Motown heavyweights THE FOUR TOPS are set to bring their legendary blend of jazz, soul and doo-wop to Hunstanton.
The American quartet, famous for a string of hits, including Reach Out, I'll Be There, If I Were a Carpenter and Walk Away Renee, are to perform at Searle's Leisure Resort at a special party marking Heacham Football Club's centenary on Saturday, February 23.

After forming in Detroit in 1956 as The Four Aims, the group stayed together for more than 40 years, only changing their line-up after the death of original member Lawrence Payton in 1997.

Seen by some as a male version of The Supremes, the band stood out for having rough-voiced baritone lead singer Levi Stubbs at a time when most bands on the circuit boasted smooth tenor singers.

The distinctive vocal sound eventually worked in their favour, and the band became an worldwide success.

Since 2006, the group has been performing with original member Abdul "Duke" Fakir and bandmates Roquel Payton (Lawrence's son), Theo Peoples and Ronnie McNeir, and have lost none of their magic.

Tickets, costing £26.50, include a four-course meal and are expected to sell quickly. To book or for more information, call Keith Barnes on 07818 044 878.
