Panto time isn't over yet! For all the fun, boos and hisses return to Heacham next week when the Pocahontas Players stage an original twist on the classic Dick Whittington tale.
The operatics group is performing Dick Whittington and his Amazing Technicolour Dream Cat at the village's Public Hall next Thursday and Friday at 7.30pm and at 2pm and 7.30pm on Saturday.

The play follows the original storyline which sees Dick Whittington, played by Sarah Parkinson, leave Heacham with his faithful Cat to seek fame and fortune in London.

He finds a job with Alderman Porkum, finest pie-maker in Olde London Town, falls in love with his daughter Alice and sets out to win her hand in marriage. But there's always someone on hand to see that true love never runs smoothly and King Rat and his accomplices put a spanner in the works.

The players have added several twists along the way too, with Ellen Bray as the Cat turning 'invisible' every time she throws on her Technicolour Dream coat and unusual characters such as Emperor Ho Sin and Empress Wan Ton, played by Jim Race and Janice Curtis.

And where would Dick Whittington and his Cat be without the help of Fairy Liquid Bubbles, being performed by Jeannie Tooley, or Dame Kate Frontage, played by Gary Pearce.

Nasty King Rat is being performed by Mike Trebbick, who has written this year's panto with John Southgate, who is playing Alderman Porkum. Additional material has also come from Warren Marshall who has taken up the role of Simple Simon.

There are around 25 cast members in the show, with Jenny Rudd starring as love interest Alice, and King Rat's accomplices Brains, Focus and Rattina being played by Elaine Pygall, Sarah Reed and Jo Humphries respectively.

Tickets, costing £6 for adults and £4 for children under eight, are available in advance from Janice Curtis on 01485 570402 or Jim Race on 01485 571267.
