NATURE lovers in Fakenham and the surrounding area are invited to a special RSPB event today (Wednesday) to find out more about the local wildlife and the work the charity does.
The Meet the RSPB evening is being held at Fakenham College conference hall between 7pm and 9.30pm.

Director of conservation, Mark Avery, will be giving one of the talks alongside Robert Coleman, senior site manager, who will be talking about the birds and wildlife at the Snettisham and Titchwell reserves.

The event will give people a chance to meet others who share a passion for wildlife, and for those who wish to become involved even further, there will be an opportunity to help establish a new local group in Fakenham. RSPB groups exist to actively support the work of the national charity in the local community and to involve RSPB members and the wider public in the society's conservation, public affairs, education, fundraising and other activities.

Other RSPB staff will also be on hand at the event to answer questions about the work of the RSPB in the area.

Volunteer Nigel Jenkinson and Steve Rowland, public affairs manager for the eastern region, will also be talking about the role of local groups and encouraging people to get involved in the Fakenham one.

For more information contact Annie Sadler, volunteering development officer, on 01603 697504.
