A FACELIFT for Fakenham Garden Centre has caught the eye of the judges in the annual Norfolk Craftsmanship Awards.
The striking new building, which has a curved roof and wood cladding, won the category for new commercial buidlings.

It has also enabled expansion at the family-run centre.

Managing director Gordon Turner told the Lynn News: "It has been possible to create new gift and homeware sections and given us more space for our garden furniture and barbecue products and a bigger and better restaurant."

The centre has also taken on seven new staff from the local community and has seen an increase in the number of holidaymakers visiting the site.

The new building, recognised for its outstanding craftsmanship, was built by Fisher and Sons, of Fakenham, and designed by Malcom Scott Consultants who used materioals that would blend into the surroundings.

Gordon and Brenda Turner took over the business in 1985 and are still managing directors, along with one of their sons, Martin.
