CAMPAIGNERS trying to save the Wells Road Post Office in Fakenham from closure should put their views in writing.
A petition signed by more than 1,000 people does not carry the same weight as individual letters, it has been claimed.

Town councillors have urged members of the public to write personally to Laura Tarling, Network Development Manager, c/o National Consultation Team, Post Office Ltd, Freepost Consultation Team.

North Norfolk MP Norman Lamb has backed the campaign and recently met protestors outside the post office which forms part of the Budgens mini-supermarket on Wells Road.

A period of public consultation to allow people to make their views known ends on Monday, June 2.

Last week the Lynn News handed MPs 1,747 signatures collected on Save Our Post Offices petitions together with 610 names on Lynn News Counter Attack coupons.
