FAKENHAM and Walsingham pro-life supporters travelled to Westminster to lobby North Norfolk MP Norman Lamb in advance of this week's parliamentary vote on embryo research.
Peter Munns, of Fakenham, met the MP with Eileen Kavanagh, Mrs Barbara Smethurst and Mrs Bernie O'Neill, of Walsingham.
Mrs Kavanagh said the four wanted to voice their opposition to the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill and urge Mr Lamb to back their views.
She said the bill would allow the creation of animal/human hybrid embryos for medical research. In addition, a child's need for a father would not be recognised for test-tube babies.
Mr Munns said they talked to Mr Lamb for about 45 minutes. "It was a very nice meeting but we were disappointed that he would not support our concerns," he said.
Mr Munns added that the four went to London as part of a larger group of priests and parishioners from the Roman Catholic Diocese of East Anglia.
