THE tiny congregation of a West Norfolk chapel is celebrating after raising £800 at a four-day flower festival last weekend.
The organiser of the festival at 120-year-old Sculthorpe Methodist Chapel, Avril Temple, said: "It was brilliant and means a great deal to us as there are only six of us who worship regularly."

Mrs Temple said the money was needed for ceiling repairs and thanked everyone who helped or attended the festival.

The theme of the 15 arrangements was Men of the Bible. The flower arrangers, who came from Sculthorpe and Fakenham, were led by Mrs Marina Goward and included her grandson, Aidan Goward (10), who made a dried flower exhibit to portray the story of Adam.

Mrs Temple said: "He added a wonderful spider and a serpent and chewed an apple especially."

Visitors appreciated all the arrangements. "They were all lovely in their different ways," she added.

The festival also included a concert with Taverham violinist Ken Boast, formerly of Sculthorpe, and his wife, Ann, who plays the piano. The chapel's Sunday School superintendent, Mr Eric Boast, led a Songs of Praise service.
