I AM one of the 'additional 200' people who has continued to support Lynn Football Club, following the club's cup run last year, which finally came to an end against Oldham FC.
Prior to the Oldham game, it had been a number of years since I had been to The Walks, but was placed under considerable pressure by my young son to take him to see The Linnets in the FA Cup.
Despite some pretty awful football at the end of last season, and most of this one (being top of the league is nice, but how we have achieved it is beyond me), I have continued to pay my £9.
I'm therefore certain that most parents of young children interested in football will share my dismay and disbelief with the antics of one of the club's staff members during the last home match, when he jumped from his position in the dug out, and had to be physically restrained from coming to blows with our opponents' manager.
To make matters worse, after the match, it was all treated as a great laugh by one of the club's directors in the Blue and Gold Club, when the offender was seen enjoying a drink with him and discussing his exploits.
Does the club really condone this type of attitude by its officials?
I for one won't bother taking my son, or going myself, again.
There are enough pressures on parents these days without impressionable youngsters having to witness this behaviour at sports events or seeing people in authority abuse their positions.
