DOGS and their owners will be descending on Hunstanton Community Centre next Sunday for a companion dog show with obedience classes.
Snettisham woman Cate Williams, who runs the Pooch Corner dog training club at the Avenue Road centre, is organising the show and proceeds will go to Guide Dogs for the Blind.

The annual event begins at 9am, with judging of the obedience classes starting at 9.30am, the pedigree section at 11am and the novelty classes at 1pm.

Entries on the day cost £1.50 per class. Dogs under six months cannot be entered, although they are allowed onto the showground.

There will be a cup for best in show in the pedigree section and plaques to the winners in the obedience classes, plus rosettes to eighth place in all categories.

Some of the novelty classes, open to allcomers, are for fun with the search on for the prettiest bitch and most handsome dog, the dog that most looks like its owner, the dog with the waggiest tail and the dog with the most appealing eyes.

Last year's event had an excellent turnout, despite awful weather on the day, and raised more than £600 for the same charity. Hunstanton's Sunnyside Veterinary Surgery will be carrying out a microchipping service at a discounted rate at the show.

There will also be refreshments, a bouncy castle and roundabout lots of stalls and space for car parking.

Anyone wanting more information about the show or rules can contact Ms Williams on 01485 545740 or 07971 340919.
