A LADIES' fashion evening is being held at the seaside in another wave of support for the Lynn News Special Care Baby Appeal.
The shopping evening is being held at the beach-front Salad Bowl Café, in Cliff Parade, Hunstanton, to raise money for the £150,000 appeal for Lynn's Queen Elizabeth Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for ill and premature babies.

The youngest son of café owners Rachel and Anthony Parkin spent 17 days in the unit after a traumatic pregnancy which left Rachel at daily risk of miscarriage.

She said: "We just want to give something back because we appreciate everything we got so much."

Mrs Parkin's waters broke when she was 19 weeks pregnant and she was warned she would lose the baby, but somehow she held on and Elias-Henry was born five weeks early weighing 7lb 3oz.

Mrs Parkin said: "It just goes to prove special care does not always have to be for very tiny babies."

Elias-Henry is now four and the Parkins, who also have a daughter Faye (11) and son Anthony (eight), will host their fundraising night at the café on Monday, October 20.

Everyone is welcome and for an entry fee of £5 will get a free drink and raffle tickets for a prize draw.

Ladies' clothes, bags and accessories will be on sale on the night and, in addition to all the entry fees, ten per cent of sales from the evening will go to the appeal.

For more information about the event contact Rachel on 01485 534768 between 10am and 5pm.
