MEMBERS of Hunstanton Methodist Church organised a weekend of activities raising awareness of climate change.
An exhibition was held at the church hall, in Austin Street, featuring a range of photographs and posters as well as material from Christian Aid's Climate SOS campaign and an interactive recycling display from Norfolk County Council.

The event was opened by Hunstanton Mayor Richard Bird and was attended by children from the town's Redgate Junior School, who lent the church their wormery for the weekend.

Mrs Joy Webb, one of the organisers, said: "We wanted to show that Christians are concerned about these issues and are trying to do something about them. We aren't just sitting back complacently, waiting for God to sort out our mistakes.

"We also set out to bring people together, older and younger, from different churches and from none, to think and talk about climate change and the steps we can take to minimise its effects."

The event, held last month, was followed by an evening of talks by local speakers and a service of harvest thanksgiving, lead by the Rev Kim Nally.
