MORE than a hundred youngsters wielding buckets and spades did battle in this year's sandcastle competition at Old Hunstanton.
The annual event, organised by the Hunstanton Lifeboat Guild, was rained off last year but the sun was shining this time around and competitors turned out in force.

Proud parents and grandparents gathered on the beach in front of the lifeboat station to cheer the young architects on and a collection was made for the RNLI.

Two-year-old Oliver Muir, from Bury St Edmunds, won the two to seven age category, sisters Freya (11) and Lizzie (10) Granger, who have a holiday home in Holme, were victorious in the eight to 11 category and 13-year-old Hannah Rush, from Nottinghamshire, was a winner in the 12 and over age group.

Winners were presented with a £5 voucher and all the competitors were given some chocolate treats for their efforts.
