MEMORIES of former Hunstanton days came flooding back in a series of exhibitions featuring postcards of the town.
Postcard collector John Smith, from Northgate, has built up a phenomenal collection of 1,600 postcards which he has been displaying at St Edmund's Church coffee mornings, at St Edmund's Church Hall, from 10am to noon on Fridays.

The exhibitions started in April and aim to run until September. Topics covered so far include the 1953 floods and beach activities.

Pictures of former private schools in Hunstanton drew a lot of interest when between 80 and 100 people attended.

Mr Smith said he had decided to stage the exhibitions because his 91-year-old mother, Mrs Gwendoline Smith, had been a Sunday School teacher at St Edmund's for many years.

Although entry is free, proceeds from coffee sales are for church funds.
