CARNIVAL fever arrived in Heacham at the weekend with colour, community spirit and family fun.
The annual parade featured a selection of floats and fancy dress walkers who made their way through the village before arriving at the playing fields for a summer fete.

The carnival procession also included a steamroller which had the unfortunate mishap of breaking-down on the route, causing slight delays for some of the floats.

Heacham parish clerk Philippa Sewell said the day was a huge success despite the problems with the steamroller and has praised the efforts of those taking part.

She told the Lynn News: "We were thrilled that we had no rain, we really did expect it to pour down.

"Considering it took some a bit longer to get round, everyone was in really good form, which was nice to see."

The overall winners were Hunstanton Coastguard for their Grease-themed float, the prize for best family went to the Rumens for the Leisure Activities float, the best organisation prize was presented to Heacham Piece of Mind for Circus in Town, the best individual prize went to Cody Gannon as Little Red Riding Hood and the best vehicle award went to Mark Williamson and daughter Regan (9) for the Happy Hippy Beetle.
