Victorian day marks Ingoldisthorpe 150th
A TASTE of life in the Victorian ages came to Ingoldisthorpe Primary School as staff and pupils celebrated 150 years of learning in the village.
Youngsters were invited to dress in period costume for the day which featured a variety of activities including a Punch and Judy show, Victorian cooking, rag-weaving and a street party.
West Norfolk Mayor David Johnson, Deputy Mayor Bill Daws and the Bishop of Lynn James Langstaff were guests of honour during the day and saw the school's very own king and queen crowned at a special assembly.
Representatives from Lynn Museum also made a visit to showcase and talk about a number of artefacts from the Victorian era.
Headteacher Mr Keith Twaites said: "The school was founded in 1858 so we decided to have a Victorian event.
"It was very much a hands-on day, looking at how the Victorians lived as well as celebrating 150 years of the school."
