RECENTLY the NHS Community Health Care team for diabetes invited me to an education programme at Watlington Village Hall.
It was a fantastic day and attenders had lectures from dieticians, the community diabetic nurse and the podiatrist.

It was most helpful and full of good advice and information.

We had a diabetic-suitable lunch provided and the whole programme was outstanding.

I often pay as much as £300 when attending a private seminar of this calibre.

I would like to thank Julie Widdowson from St James in Extons Road and all her team for their time and commitment. Apparently although there is a government directive to offer this type of education there is no financial support and the diabetic team give free time and also get sponsorship from local firms.

Thirty-six people were invited to this day for Type-2 diabetes and only ten turned up. What a pity!!

Congratulations to NHS Lynn for their outstanding contribution to diabetic health locally.

Mrs Vivienne Parker, 90 Ryston End, Downham
