Car park signs should tell people that they should not stay too long
I would like to make your readers aware of the extortionate parking fees in the town.
Having relatives over to stay from Spain, we came in to Lynn for the day.
After spending a pleasant day in the town, we returned to St James car park where I had parked my car a little over six hours previously.
Imagine my horror when the fee requested was £12.
Up to six hours is £4.40 and then it jumps up to £12.
I queried this with the attendant who said it was to deter people from staying too long as it wasn't a long-stay car park.
After leaving the car park and waiting at the traffic lights, I noticed that the car park sign only states St James car park and neither a long stay for short-stay car park.
I find it unbelievable that the largest and newest car park in a town in re-development does not want people to "stay too long". If this is the case it should be clearly displayed as a short-stay on the sign at the lights – which is where most people would decide where to park.
