Cruel hoaxer said they had found our missing cat

We would like to thank the "kind" person who made several phone calls and text messages to us advising that they had found our missing cat Mildred.
They advised us that they had found her and taken her to a vet. The person had us running round to veterinary surgeries and police stations trying to find Mildred.
This wasted several hours of our time; on both August 12 and 13; the person eventually texted to say that it was a hoax and that they did not have the cat.
We find this to be a very cruel thing to do. We are all missing Mildred, we are hoping that she is safe and sound and that she will be returned to us soon.
