THE marina, don't worry Purfleet, Vicky Fairweather and all those concerned about proposed development of Hardings Pits. Relax everyone. It will never happen. As Spock would say "it's illogical captain".
Like many I have been following the saga of the marina and how much money will come flooding into our town.
Where will all this money come from? Answer: the residents of new dwellings proposed around the marina.
Where will the residents come fr
om?
Where will all these people find work? Who will use the marina? Someone on the council must have raised these questions.
I cannot imagine someone on a luxury cruiser wanting to visit Lynn only to find the time of the visit would be affected by the tide, both in and out. I thought the whole idea of a marina was unrestricted access. Let's be honest, not many shops in the town stock luxury goods to attract these big spenders.
I do sometimes feel sorry for all the owners of cruisers and yachts in the south of France who are patiently waiting for the said marina to be completed.
The truth is the council here, like many others, gets all excited when they have a potential pile of money to play with so they hire companies and specialists to study this and survey that and suddenly find a high percentage of the pot of gold has gone...and most important of all they did not bother to consult the people of Lynn before they dipped into the purse.
So let the council speak now. Will the marina go ahead? Honest answers only, please.
