Drivers need to use payphones
MAIN Road, Brancaster: Many houses in the village, particularly those let for holidays, do not have phones installed. Not everyone has a mobile.
I walk past the Brancaster public phone twice per day and I certainly see the phone used.
Often the user is a car driver who has stopped. The majority of users (I see) are not local and therefore a "survey of local people's needs" would be pointless – although likely to be suggested.
I note that the list of "payphones under threat" are mainly in rural areas.
This on top of Post Office closures seems to be aimed at killing off "village Life". Please add our name to the list of objectors.
