Fight to save Ebbs field is continuing

Regarding Ebbs Field development issues: Residents of Tennyson Road in Lynn and surrounding areas are extremely concerned regarding the proposed five-storey development under consider- ation.
This would affect our way of life – privacy and security would be problematic.
If the area was designated a car park this would not lessen the congestion on the road and danger to pedestrians would still be high.
The blind corner at the level crossing would still exist. The planning notice was posted surreptitiously on July 25.
No local residents were informed until Linda Pegg and myself had attended a meeting with the planning officer on July 30.
I have lived next to the field for eight years, during which time it has been kept locked – the key being held by signal box and Network Rail employees.
Admission for maintenance works on my property is from the college, apart from when engineers working on the Clough Lane site, then UCSI, and contractors working on the Walks Restoration, during this time our lives were not made easy by the constant traffic.
However, the courtesy and efficiency of the workers was a credit to the companies and their staff.
It is therefore all the more important that we do not have a blot on the landscape opposite our wonderful park – a walk round which I recommend to everyone.
From myself and Linda Pegg, thank you to all who supported the campaign, and everyone be assured it has not finished.
