Roadworks Chaos? – Not for Cyclists
I was surprised to read in the Lynn News that the essential replacement of a gas main is going to cause “chaos”.

If people living in The Woottons, Reffley, Gaywood and the surrounding area use the fastest, healthiest, cheapest, and greenest way of getting around, disruption will be reduced to a minimum.

Cyclists will be allowed through the roadworks, and the main cycle routes from the area into town and to the Hardwick Industrial Area are unaffected by the work.

It only takes 20 to 25 minutes to cycle into town from North Wootton and much less from areas closer to the town centre.

To get from Reffley to the Hardwick takes about 15 minutes.

Ben Coulson of Norfolk Green quite rightly raises concerns about the effects on bus services.

Disruption to bus passengers will be considerably reduced if people take the smart way round the works and cycle.

I was amazed that the “Best routes to use…” box did not put the cycle routes at the top of the list.
