I wonder if any of your readers have been subjected to the treatment we have had.
My wife ordered a compost bin from West Norfolk Council in response to its leafleting and ordered our bin on June 24.

We were told to expect to wait 28 days, which she did, but on telephoning its 0800 number we were advised that we had received the bin from DHL.

The cheque for £20 was cashed on our account on June 26 and we have still not received same and have now been told to wait another 14 days.

At a time when a compost bin is needed most, we find we are having to stack our green waste in the garden.

It now seems we would have been better to have used a local trader instead of adding to the council funds by buying from it. Has anyone else suffered the same fate?

John Harris, 47 Plough Lane, Watlington
