As parents with children at Tilney All Saints School, we would like to say that your report about the suspension of its headteacher in Tuesday's Lynn News was more informative than the letter sent home to parents by the school governors.
We would also like to thank you for reminding your readers of the praise Mr James was given by Ofsted.

As your report rightly says, suspension is neutral, yet we are aware that negative inferences have been drawn by readers from outside the school.

IMPROVEMENTS

As far as we are concerned, Mr James (and the supply headteacher who preceded him) have made great improvements and we are much happier with the running of the school than we were during the time of the previous permanent head and we would not want Mr James' positive achievements to be obscured by this investigation.

We are also aware of a number of untrue rumours that have been circulating this term and therefore, though we do not know the nature of the allegations that have led to this investigation, we are highly sceptical about them.

Paul and Beryl Savage,

Tilney St Lawrence
