Proud serviceman not forgotten

AS an ex-serviceman, I was disappointed with the Lynn News coverage of the 68th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
Your newspaper only covers pictures and details of dignitaries who attend these events at the Cenotaph.
Why leave out the RAF men and women, standard bearers and ex-servicemen and women who also attended the service?
This happens quite frequently at other events of this nature.
Please, Lynn News, get your act together and recognise the people who have and, in fact, still are serving their country.

The editor replies: I agree with your sentiments. We do try to cover these events in a full and fair way, often depicting the people to whom you refer. On other occasions we might focus on the dignitaries.
This is something we have done for 68 years and more. But it is not just a question of honouring them on special occasions. We cover Royal British Legion events and presentations, and those of other other services, throughout the year, which I know is much appreciated.
In fact the Lynn News was proud and pleased to help publicise the appeal to create a new garden of rememberance at Lynn's Tower Gardens and, with readers support, also provided a memorial to mark the 50th anniversary of the ending of the Second World War.
I can assure you that those who have fought for their country have not been forgotten by the Lynn News and its readers.
