WHILE holidaying in the area, we visited Downham – what a lovely little town!
On a Friday it was market day – boasting a small but busy market, selling anything from sausages to slippers.

Small shops staffed by the owners – a rarity these days, offering a wide range of produce.

The wool shop tempted even a non-knitter such as I, the sweet shop, well I could spend a day in there and still want more.

Still there are more, too many to mention.

But I have to mention the Bluebell Florist and gift shop, which has recently opened a tea room.

Lovely shop – luscious cakes and scones and proper tea and coffee served in china cups.

The staff were polite and welcoming and obviously enjoyed working in such a relaxed atmosphere.

Well done Bluebell – we will be back.

L. BOWLES Millford, Belpher, Derbyshire.

PS: Congratulations on the Lynn News – good paper for visitors.
