Thanks to the good Samaritans in Lynn

I AM writing this letter not as a tale of woe, which it is for me, but as a letter of thanks.
On Thursday, October 16, at about midday, I drove into the Tesco filling station on Lynn's Hardwick Road and started filling my car with petrol. The problem is that my car runs on diesel. Luckily, I realised my mistake, stopped filling and went into the kiosk to explain the situation.
At this point my faith in humanity was restored. Immediately one of the young ladies behind the till came to assist my wife and I to push the car out of the way.
Back in the kiosk, both assistants did everything they could to find help by supplying me with both a phone and phone numbers.
At this point good Samaritan number two arrived and without being asked, insisted that he drive me to a nearby garage to organise recovery and repair. The gentleman in question is Steve, the new manager of The Gate public house at Middleton.
The Tears recovery vehicle arrived, towed us to Sutton Bridge and before too long we were back on the road with the minimum of fuss.
This letter is to thank all concerned and as you can see from my address, I drove a very long way to make such a stupid mistake.
