Three years on, and still no improvements
George Chappell's letter, Lynn News, Tuesday April 8, "attempting to glean the latest information regarding boundaries and timings for new bus passes", has jogged my memory to refer back to my letter printed in the Lynn News, September 9, 2005, "Bus station still needs to improve".
This was after refurbishment work, agreed and arranged by Adrian Gunson and his working party.
A paragraph in the letter reads "with regard to the work to begin, the idea of an improved bus station information centre, should be to make it customer-friendly, provide proper waiting room facilities and a customer counter manned by at least two clerical staff, employed by the council, who can deal with general inquiries, including sale of tickets in advance, and why not tickets for National Express?"
Is it really, nearly three years ago, and what have we got?
A woman in attendance, employed by the council, I believe, not always there,
WAITING ROOM
There are still no proper waiting room facilities, all the seating, of sorts, outside, many out in the open.
What a way to treat bus travelling customers and what an advert to visitors/tourists to our town. Authorities should hang their heads in shame.
MICHAEL DICKS, Minister Court, Lynn
