We need fresh faces - can this decision be reversed?

Swaffham has had many press reports throughout the year saying how it has become a struggling and stale town.
Now wouldn't you think the town council would welcome a fresh face running the show? Well apparently not.

When the opportunity arose at the town council meeting on Wednesday to vote for a new mayor, as yet again our deputy could not undertake mayoral duties, why did seven councillors vote for the continuation for a further year of Shirley Matthews?

Whether you consider Shirley to do a good job or not, this will be her third year, and one too many in my opinion.

This town needs new life and new faces and a council which works for its town and not its political party.

The council will argue that David Wickerson did not have the necessary experience. I'm sorry but don't underestimate someone until you give them a chance; anyway I'm sure the past mayor and town clerk would have given a helping hand and advice when necessary.

Is there nothing Swaffham townspeople can do to reverse this travesty?
