I quote from the report in the Lynn News of September 23 with reference to the suspension of bus services in West Winch:
“... managing director of bus operator Norfolk Green Ben Colson said there were complaints when other routes were used in the past and the buses are too big to turn.”
Perhaps, sir, you would be good enough to explain to me and the world at large h
ow it is that coaches transporting school students are still operating – these being longer than the majority of Norfolk Green vehicles normally used on services through West Winch.
The drivers of these coaches appear to have mastered the art of using reverse gear and backing into a side road off Hall Lane to change direction – (I have no doubt Norfolk Green drivers are equally capable of doing the same) – not an ideal practice, but preferable to the frail and elderly being compelled to walk the considerable distance to and from the A10 bus stops.
AVAILABLE
According to the Lynn News report you also state “...there is no alternative” to the present arrangement.
Clearly an absolute nonsense.
Perhaps you should make yourself available to be present in Hall Lane a little before 8am on a Monday morning to witness the pick-up of fit and healthy youngsters – and on the A10 stops in time to meet the arrival of elderly Norfolk Green passengers from Lynn and offer to carry their shopping.
